Halloween Parties!

We had a fun filled last few days.

We carved our one big pumpkin and picked leaves by our house.

Audrey had two different Halloween parties at her pre-school.  She actually is in two different classes so she had two different parties!

Hudson had his school party today.  This his buddy who was also a rocker today.

Marshall is getting up on all fours and drags himself around the living room.  He has gotten 6 teeth in the last 30 days!  He started getting fussy during this photo shoot and gave me a nice view of his teeth!

Party!

We went to our official Halloween party!  Our friend Sonia had a kid's party that was really fun.  We were a little late because we waited 3.5 hours to get the H1N1 (Swine Flu) shots.  Waiting that long was a miserable experience, but the kids needed the shots.

Back to the party...we had a great time!

Groovin

We've been busy around here with home improvements.  Paint and new flooring in the living room has really brightened up the room!  I love it.  The whole family pitched in to finish it up.  Hudson & Audrey are really good helpers.  When the room is put back together I'll post some pictures.

I've been busy sewing sweet little baby presents!  I have had five friends give birth in September.  I'm hoping to the get the presents in the mail before the babies celebrate their first birthday.  I've already mailed 1 & 2 & am finishing up 3, 4, & 5.  

I couldn't just leave the family viewing this blog to see words & no pictures.  So here is a little  movie of Marshall groovin!  I took this with my camera and not the FLIP that we love - so the picture is grainy.  I had to send it back to the manufacturer because it stopped working correctly.  Hopefully, I'll get it back before Christmas festivities begin.

Audrey's Field Trip

So Audrey had a field trip yesterday.  Marshall and I didn't stay for the Troy Farm tour.  We came back a little early to pick Audrey up and I was able to snap some pictures of her Pre-School classmates on the hay wagon.  They made cider, visited the animals, and took a hayride.  Both she and Marshall fell asleep on the way home.  Marshall looks like Hudson, but hates his socks like Audrey.  He pulled them off before falling asleep in the car.

I tried to take a picture of all three kids.  It was a painful process and I'm not looking forward to taking a Christmas card photo!!

Apple Orchard Field Trip

This morning was Hudson's 1st grade field trip to an apple orchard.  It was a nice time...cold...but nice.  We rode a hay wagon to pick apples then we had cider & donuts.  Yummy.


Here are some random pics of Marshall & Audrey.  I found Audrey in the toy box with all of her "stuffties".  Marshall is wearing Hudson's old winter jacket.  Then I found Marshall trying to escape out of his crib.  If the railing is down he puts one foot over the top and tries to pull himself up and over!!  The railing now stays up.

Teaching Moment

So, I thought I had a "teaching moment" with Hudson and Audrey today.  I connected with a woman with three young children.  Her husband was laid off and she had to stay at home with her youngest, a premie that weighs 5 lbs.  She was a terribly kind woman and I felt moved by her struggle.  I informed the kids that we were headed to Costco to pick up some things for their family.  I explained why her family was struggling and since we had the good fortune to have a little extra and our health that we should give to others.  I saw Hudson mulling it over.  He said, "I think I should have brought my wallet."  I was getting excited thinking that he finally understood giving for the sake of giving.  Hudson then said, "I could buy that family something.  Then YOU could buy me something."  "Um, no.  That isn't how it works" I said.  My teaching methods are not working because this "teaching moment" zipped right over my kids' heads.    

I couldn't post something without pictures of at least 1 kid.  Can you guess what Hudson wants to be for Halloween?

Hudson is SEVEN!

Hudson's birthday was last Friday.  We can't believe that he is SEVEN years old!  He is becoming such a little serious man.  He chose to go to the Rainforest Cafe for his birthday dinner.  He ordered a huge birthday ice cream with a sparkler.  

This week

We have been hanging out this week getting ready for Hudson's birthday.  He wanted a monster stuffed animal thing.  I found this pattern on Etsy and it was so cute.  This is also the lady that had the pattern to the pirate doll I made Audrey.  Audrey helped me pick out the fabric, pick out the buttons, and helped me stuff the monster.  She is a good little worker.  She did her own hair...the ribbon headband look is her favorite!

My good friend Joni and her two adorable kids Katie & Mickey came over to play yesterday.  They are so darn cute!!  To remind everyone out there Katie is exactly 1 week younger than Marshall.
