Weekend

The kids and I went to Coldwater to visit my Mom then on to Kalamazoo to spend time with my Dad & Stepmom.  We had a great time.  We went bowling in Bronson then went to the Air Museum in Kalamazoo.  I would recommend both!  My Dad, Audrey, & Hudson standing in front of the worlds largest hand painted mural.  It was pretty awesome.
Hudson on the airplane ride.  Audrey refused to get on the airplane.
A few days ago Marshall turned 7 months old.  He doesn't have teeth nor is he sitting up by himself.  He DOES roll over onto his belly then start to yell b/c he doesn't like to be on his big belly.  He is "chewing" everything so I think he'll start to get teeth soon.  Here are a few new pics of him.  The last pic is perfect with spit on his chin!!

Air Guitar

Thought I would leave you with some air guitar to entertain you while we are out of town.  The kids and I are headed to my Mom's in Coldwater and then to Kalamazoo for a few days to visit my Dad.  It will be the last round of visits before school starts!  I can't believe the summer is almost over.

Enjoy the show.  Don't try to figure out the words in the first song because it is in spanish!

Obsessed

So have I mentioned I'm obsessed with baby food and cloth diapers?  No?  Odd...it seems that is all I talk to Josh about.  His eyes glaze over and roll to the back of his head when I start, "Did you know that there is a cloth diaper company that......(fill in the blank)"  Well, since I haven't shared my obsession with friends and family here is your first installment.

We have a garden that we are growing veggies for baby food.  I've had many summer squash grow and I've steamed, pureed, and froze.  If only Marshall would eat something other than sweet potatoes.  I might end up with a freezer full of baby food and no baby to eat it.

I planted butternut squash in the spring and this is the only squash we've had from that plant.  I was so excited about this little squash until yesterday morning.  I found this:
What animal would eat my butternut squash?  Didn't they like the squash enough to finish it off?  Ugh!

Now onto cloth diapers.  I started these with Marshall when he was 2 months old.  I did it mostly because of the cost and I don't mind washing dirty diapers.  I am constantly searching for the "perfect" cloth diaper, but I can't find one via the internet that the cloth diapering community adores.  I put together a makeshift clothes line in the backyard so I can hang the diapers out there.
Enough with my obsessions today.  I'm off to play Uno!!

August 2009

Josh had his back surgery a few weeks ago.  He is feeling a lot better now.  He is headed to work tomorrow.  Here are some pics from the past few weeks:

We went to the Troy Aquatic Center on one of the really hot days.  The kids had a great time in the "squirt zone".

Jill and Orlando came into town this week from Oklahoma.  We played a rousing game of Uno and were astonished by the talent of their dog, Scooter.

The kids and I went to Metro Beach today so Josh could get some rest.  It was packed!!  Taking a pic of the kids was very similar to "Where's Waldo".  Can you find my kids?

The beach was on Lake St. Claire.  It was closed because of high e-coli content.  EWWW.  We just spent time in the "Squirt Zone" that used chlorinated water.  Here is Audrey in front of the "No Swimming" sign.

Marshall hanging out on the bench with me.

We went to the play area at Metro Beach after trying to eat a snow cone that melted faster than we could eat them.

Summer Heat

Who needs a pool when you have a sprinkler that came with the house?

Baseball

Hudson just had his last game of the summer yesterday.  He had such a great time playing with his buddies from school.  He wanted to know when he could sign up for next year already.  Here are some pics from his last game.
This is Hudson's buddy Andrew.  We thought Hudson was goofy, but Andrew & Hudson are exactly alike.  It has to be a 6 year old boy thing.

The whole team!

Camping

We went camping last weekend, in a tent, in a field, and with no bathrooms/showers.  It was only the third time I've been tent camping.  The only time in a tent with children.  I only had one melt down...so it wasn't bad at all.  We actually had a good time and I may do it again next summer.  On our way home we stopped at Higgins Lake to go swimming.  It looks warm in the pictures, but it was pretty chilly.  The kids only lasted for about 30 minutes in the water!!

Here are some pics that I put on Flicker.
