Hudson's Birthday!

Hudson had a great birthday.  He is now 8 years old.  I can't believe that my first baby is so old.

We had a breakfast birthday celebration so he could open his presents in the morning before soccer.

This was the scene for much of the day. Just switch the DS from Josh to Hudson.

We had soccer in the afternoon and it was so cold and rainy. Audrey really likes talking to the players as they are sitting on the bench.  Should I start to worry now that she LOVES the boys?  Moving on....

Hudson wore his hoody sweatshirt under his jersey. Such a fashion statement! I think he makes a great hunchback!

We went out to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. I stuffed the kids into a photo booth to get this set of pictures.

My baby is growing up and does not want to get his hair cut. I pick my battles!

He is such a fun eight year old. I just want to brush that long hair behind his ears. He doesn't like that...but someone needs to do it. I have to remind myself to pick my battles. I adore my 8 year old even if he is trying to look like Justin Bieber.

Hudson's Birthday DS

Hudson's ultimate dream finally came true.  He received the coveted DS today for his 8th birthday.  He has been asking for a DS for AT LEAST three years.  I'll post pictures of his actual birthday dinner, candles, and other presents sometime soon, but I wanted to get the video out there for the family!

P.S. Thank you Rick & Michelle for the R4 card with all the cool games that he is currently playing!

Hudson is SEVEN!

Hudson's birthday was last Friday.  We can't believe that he is SEVEN years old!  He is becoming such a little serious man.  He chose to go to the Rainforest Cafe for his birthday dinner.  He ordered a huge birthday ice cream with a sparkler.

Baseball

I've finally put together a video of Hudson's baseball game.  Now that he is onto soccer I'll need to video those games and in 6 months I should have a video of that too.

Stupid YouTube made me change the song that I had on the video.  It was "Centerfield" - you know..."put me in coach...I'm ready to play.  Today...look at me...I can play Centerfield."  It was perfect for my video, but YouTube says that the rights are owned by someone else & just because I bought a copy of the song doesn't mean that I can put it in my video.  Ugh....  Sorry about the lame song...blame YouTube.

Air Guitar

Thought I would leave you with some air guitar to entertain you while we are out of town.  The kids and I are headed to my Mom's in Coldwater and then to Kalamazoo for a few days to visit my Dad.  It will be the last round of visits before school starts!  I can't believe the summer is almost over.

Enjoy the show.  Don't try to figure out the words in the first song because it is in spanish!

Baseball

Hudson just had his last game of the summer yesterday.  He had such a great time playing with his buddies from school.  He wanted to know when he could sign up for next year already.  Here are some pics from his last game.
This is Hudson's buddy Andrew.  We thought Hudson was goofy, but Andrew & Hudson are exactly alike.  It has to be a 6 year old boy thing.

The whole team!

Baseball

Hudson has been playing baseball twice a week since he got out of school.  He is in coach pitch and is really enjoying himself.  I have to put the videos together and then I'll post those also sometime soon.  Here are some pictures of our normal Tuesday & Thursday mornings.

Hudson's Schooling

Now Hudson is learning how to write and put together sentences.  Here is his latest creation that I found on the bathroom door.

It says:
"Keep out go away!"
"Top Secrit Closed for Good!"
"Com bak a nuther time"
"Go to the uther bathroom"

He means:
Keep out go away
Top Secret closed for good
Come back another time
Go to the other bathroom

At 6 he's marking his own territory.  He now has to share a room with his sister and I think he's trying to make his own space.  Unfortunately, we only have 1 bathroom on the main floor and the other bathroom is in the basement.  I told him he couldn't keep people out of the bathroom.  He was quite disgruntled about that.
